4Schools were thrilled to get involved with the buzz and celebration of Bradford City of Culture 2025! Eleven brilliant Bradford schools got the chance to take part in our brand-new 4Schools Comedy Workshops, designed to introduce them to the exciting world of creative careers.
Inspired by the genius of long-running Channel 4 mega-hit, Gogglebox, explored what actually makes things funny! From clever camera work to relatable remarks from the cast – no stone was left unturned as they discovered the secrets of observational comedy.
We were lucky to be joined by Victoria Ray, Executive Producer at Studio Lambert, who shared amazing behind-the-scenes insights into all the work that goes on to create the magic of the show. Plus, we even had some special messages from the Gogglebox stars themselves!
This was definitely one for the class clowns! Equipped with their new TV knowledge, it was time for the students to take to the sofa for their own Gogglebox Challenge! We were introduced to some iconic characters portrayed by the students; grouchy uncles, feuding friends, even a family cat, all delivering their witty remarks on a recent episode Educating Yorkshire.
A huge well done to the students of Bradford for stepping out of their comfort zone to learn more about the magic of TV comedy. And a big thank you to Gogglebox and Victoria Ray for making these workshops so special.
Shoutout to our Bradford 4Schools: Carlton Bolling, Oasis Academy Lister Park, Laisterdyke Leadership Academy, Beckfoot Thornton, Belle Vue Girls’ Academy, Bronte Girls’ Academy, Trinity Academy Bradford, Bradford Girls’ Grammer School, Parkside School, Bradford Academy, Co-op Academy Grange.
